American Indian Library Association (AILA) - AILA was founded in 1979 in conjunction with the White House Pre-Conference on Indian Library and Information Services on or near Reservations. At the time, there was increasing awareness that library services for Native Americans were inadequate. Individuals as well as the government began to organize to remedy the situation. An affiliate of the American Library Association (ALA), the American Indian Library Association is a membership action group that addresses the library-related needs of American Indians and Alaska Natives.
Asian Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA) - APALA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing leadership opportunities through informed dialogue that addresses the needs of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander library workers and those who serve these communities.
Black Caucus American Library Association (BCALA)- Established in 1970, the Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA), was formed to serve as an advocate for the development, promotion, and improvement of library services and resources to the nation’s African American community; and to provide leadership for the recruitment and professional development of African American librarians.
Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA) - Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, a volunteer-led library association that supports the professional development and research scholarship of CALA members, advocates Chinese American librarians in professional organizations, and enhances the leadership development of Chinese American librarians through training, mentoring, networking, and collaboration with colleagues in the United States and abroad.
REFORMA- Established in 1971 as an affiliate of the American Library Association (ALA), REFORMA has actively sought to promote the development of library collections to include Spanish-language and Latino oriented materials; the recruitment of more bilingual and bicultural library professionals and support staff; the development of library services and programs that meet the needs of the Latino community; the establishment of a national information and support network among individuals who share our goals; the education of the U.S. Latino population in regards to the availability and types of library services; and lobbying efforts to preserve existing library resource centers serving the interests of Latinos.

Exists to educate and support the value of intellectual freedom, and help provide public oversight of any potential violations of the First Amendment in Oregon libraries.
Libros for Oregon (LfO) is a project that aims to help libraries connect with excellent Spanish language library materials and make purchasing and cataloging accessible for all libraries.
The state branch of the National REFORMA Organization. REFORMA Oregon is a professional organization for librarians and library staff who serve the Spanish-speaking and Latine communities.
SD will provide a forum in order to encourage new ideas, discuss concerns, and solve problems while envisioning and adapting to changes in the profession. SSD's goal is to inspire and promote professional growth through networking, conferences, workshops, and mentoring.
