Continuing Education Resources for Library Staff

Funding

Based on our current full award of Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) 2025 funds, and contingent on our continuing ability to draw down LSTA funds from our federal funder, the State Library plans to pay the following costs associated with our continuing education program for libraries for the coming fiscal year from July 2025-June 2026:

  • Our Continuing Education Coordinator (through September 2026).
  • Continuing education subscriptions for Infopeople online courses, Ryan Dowd webinars (through May 2025), Lyrasis, the Oregon Library Staff Academy, People Connect Institute (PCI) webinars, Tech-Talk newsletter, support for WebJunction, and board member training from United for Libraries.
  • OLA Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Antiracism Committee professional development scholarships.

Based on our continuing uncertainty about LSTA 2026 funding we are not currently:

  • Planning more Libraries Leading with Equity in-person or live online cohorts.
  • Looking at expanding continuing education offerings.

If your library relies on training from any of the above sources, you may choose to reach out those vendors to get pricing as part of your upcoming budgeting process.

We are committed to sharing more information as it becomes available, so that partner libraries have as much notice as possible for making any needed service adjustments or contingency plans.
